Together all of this has allowed BREAKERBOX to rise above the noise level. A little over a year ago, the now Nashville based Rock/Pop duo “BREAKERBOX” which features singer/songwriter Christina DeNee’ & drummer/producer Scott Calandra; released a Music Video Tribute to US Military Families featuring their single “Miss You“.
Finding support from partners in the Military Community such as Wounded Warrior Project & Military.com; BREAKERBOX, their song and story received local, regional and national press including features on Ellen Nation.com and eventually found its way onto the desk of The Military Child Education Coalition, a non-profit focused on the support of military children. The Music Video will now be featured in a nation wide educational program reaching thousands of teachers, counselors, principals and administrators from school districts with a generous population of military-connected students helping them understand the effects of deployment on children.
The Military Child Education Coalition’s mission is to ensure inclusive, quality educational opportunities for all military-connected children affected by mobility, transition, deployments and family separation. The organization is a perfect fit for the song which was written by the Music duo about the loss of both of their parents at a young age. Christina was only 10 years old when she lost her Mother and Scott, age 14 when his father passed away. A successful national recording group for the past 8 years; Scott & Christina have been busy making noise in the Independent Music Industry with their entrepreneurial work ethic and creative partnerships. They turned their grief into the moving song “Miss You” which was initially released on their 2011 debut EP “These Are Strange Days”.
As the bands sound and reach continued to grow, they were overwhelmed by personal messages and emails of fans sharing their stories of loss and how the song had helped them cope. “The majority of messages were coming from the Military Community” says Calandra; ” the most moving was from the mother of a veteran who had taken his own life after battling PTSD; she used the song at her son’s funeral- we felt compelled to do something more”.

RYNO(Alt Pop/EDM)– is the latest musical en devour from Buffalo, NY native Ryan Jacob Doyle. Bringing a more of an electronic sensibility to his craft, he has toured globally with past projects, winning the Hard Rock Café’s worldwide Battle of the Bands. As the winning act, he and his band MORE THAN ME opened for Sir Paul McCartney at the main stage of the Hard Rock Calling Festival in London.

Triiinity Band featuring Maya- (Pop/Funk/R&B) this power-house band of professionals who have toured the globe includes Rod Bonner , seven-year keyboardist for three-time time Grammy Nominated Saxophonist Najee, and music business graduate with honors from the world renown Berklee School of Music. Triinity Band Drummer Daniel “DP on DRUMS” Powell is currently the touring drummer for both Soul/R&B artist Marsha Ambrosius as well as the groove force behind three-Time Grammy Nominated multi-instrumentalist Najee for the past four years.

“Its all about connection” says singer Christina DeNee’. “And we have been blown away by the reaction we have been getting, especially from the Military Community”. Originally written by drummer Scott Calandra and DeNee’ about the loss of their parents “Miss You” was first released off their debut EP “These Are Strange Days” in 2011. “I lost my father at age 14, and Christina lost her mother at 10.” says Calandra “We just wanted the song to capture that feeling of loss and missing someone. But then we were recently contacted by a mother whose son was a veteran of the war in Afghanistan, who sadly took his life after struggling to adjust to civilian life. She played ‘Miss You’ at his funeral, which moved us beyond words. It opened our eyes to a way we could possibly support suffering veterans who don’t necessarily have a voice – except through organizations like WWP. So, we re-approached the song for a re-release.”
Pulling out all the stops for the single, the independent duo collaborated with Los Angeles based Producer Chris Baseford (Nickelback/Shinedown), Grammy award winning Mastering Engineer Joe Palmaccio (Michael Jackson/Alicia Keys); and the song was mixed by BREAKERBOX’s own Scott Calandra.
